UN hails signing of declaration

The United Nations Security Council has said the joint declaration signed by the leaders of Eritrea and Ethiopa has opened a new chapter of cooperation and partnership between the two countries.

The joint declaration of peace and friendship was signed on Monday by Eritrean President Isaias Afwerki and the Prime Minister of Ethiopia Abiy Ahmed signaling the resumption of diplomatic ties for the first time in two decades. – ANA
