Lifeline for Chabangu

Gauteng ABC Mostepe League side Baberwa FC have come to former Mamelodi Sundowns star Lerato Chabangu’s (right) rescue, giving him a contract until the end of the season, Phakaaathi sources say. A photo of Chabangu in ragged clothes recently went viral on social media and while some scorned him for having misused the money he earned as a professional footballer, some felt pity for him. “He is now at Baberwa, who also have Tefu Mashamaite in their ranks. The owner of that club (Joe Seanego) is supportive but strict and has undertaken to ensure Lerato gets his life back on track,” said the source.
