February got off to a flying start for many of the participants in the Fantasy Premier League, with Gameweek 25 producing 15 members of Phakaaathi’s Private Fantasy League who scored 100 points or more.

The double gameweek for Manchester City contributed plenty of these points, with many players captaining Sergio Aguero (below), who ended up getting 19 points, doubled to 38 as skipper, with the Argentinean striker’s hat-trick against Arsenal on Sunday obviously the main reason for this.

At the top of the standings in Phakaaathi’s Private Fantasy League for February, with the winner taking home a Qatar 3-Piece Lounge Suite, valued at R9 999, are Mokete Sethunya and Utalagu, who picked up 112 weeks for Gameweek 25.

Utalagu captained Aguero, and also had City defender Aymeric Laporte in their team. Laporte picked up 20 points for an assist in the game against Arsenal, followed by a goal and a clean sheet in the 2-0 win at Everton on Wednesday night.

In second place on the February standings is The Citizen newspaper’s own Clinton Jones, who isn’t eligible for the prize, of course, but picked up 109 points, mainly on the back of dropping his triple captain chip on Aguero, which gave him a whopping 57 points on its own!

A point further back, and well in the running for the lounge suite is Tich Brian Chari and ChariTJOGOBonito, who got 108 points for the week, also triple-captaining Aguero, and including Laporte in their team.

Gaotlholwe Kenalemang and FC Reals of Gaddafi, in fourth, deserve a special mention, meanwhile, as they managed to get 105 points without captaining Aguero. FC Reals instead gave the armband to Eden Hazard, who racked up 15 points, doubled to 30 as captain, after his double in Chelsea’s 5-0 hammering of Huddersfield on Saturday.

FC Reals did have Aguero in their side, and Laporte, while Wolves’ Raul Jimenez continues to impress, picking up 9 points for his goal in the 3-1 win at Everton on the weekend.
