Copper ‘thief’ appears in court

A 26-year-old man was arrested with two bags filled with copper piping in Ladysmith yesterday, police said.

Lieutenant-Colonel Thulani Zwane said officers stopped and searched the man in the Ladysmith CBD.

The man was arrested as he could not explain where he had obtained the copper piping.

“He faces charges of being in possession of suspected stolen property,” Zwane said.

The man will appear in court today. – ANA
