To Tuks falls the task of derailing Zulu train

- Sibongiseni Gumbi

It is the turn of University of Pretoria to try and stop runaway National First Division leaders Thanda Royal Zulu as the teams meet at Tuks Stadium this afternoon.

Amabhubesi have proved unstoppable this season, going 18 matches without defeat and enjoying a 10-point lead.

But AmaTuks coach Shaun Bartlett was this week quoted as saying he has told his players that if they are to be the best in the division, they would have to beat the best. The former Bafana Bafana striker hopes his words will inspire his sixth-placed team.

Black Leopards will meanwhile look to continue their impressive march which has seen them jump to second spot when they host Witbank Spurs, also this afternoon.

Lidoda Duvha have been on a good run since Zimbabwean coach Jairos Tapera took over from Sello Chokoe earlier this year. The Polokwane-based team have won all their matches under Tapera’s guidance.

Spurs could however be a stern test for Lidoda Duvha as they also have ambitions of finishing in the play-offs position. Siyavutha are in seventh spot.

Mthatha Bucks will look to collect full points when they host embattled Magesi FC.
