Stra­chan quits as Scot­land boss

– Gor­don Stra­chan has stepped down as Scot­land man­ager fol­low­ing the team’s fail­ure to qual­ify for next year’s World Cup, the Scot­tish Football As­so­ci­a­tion (SFA) an­nounced yes­ter­day.

The SFA said Stra­chan and his as­sis­tant Mark McGhee would leave “with im­me­di­ate ef­fect” to give his suc­ces­sor max­i­mum time to pre­pare for the Euro 2020 qual­i­fy­ing cam­paign.

The 60-year-old Stra­chan was ap­pointed in Jan­uary 2013. – AFP
