Khaya’s picks

The Citizen (KZN) - - SPORT -

FC Cologne will be looking to continue their push to win promotion to the top flight as they welcome Union Berlin tonight.

The hosts started the Bundesliga 2 with a win last week and were lucky not to lose some of their star players despite being relegated to the second tier.

It has been a norm in Bundesliga for relegated clubs to lose their players as top German and European clubs come shopping in the summer.

Union Berlin, on the other hand, are now a very established Bundesliga 2 team, playing their ninth consecutive season.

They got off the season with a lone goal win which was scored by Felix Kroos, brother of European champions Real Madrid’s Toni Kroos. They will be hoping to get another good result tonight.

Cologne, however, have won five out of their last six meetings with Union Berlin, having lost just once. I therefore believe that they will be too strong for their visitors tonight.
