THE Eastern Cape Super 12 club rugby tournament reaches its final with defending champions Gardens and East London Police clashing at the Uitenhage Central Stadium tomorrow (kickoff 3.30pm).

Both teams have had tough in their campaigns.

They will be going up against each other for the first time this season.

Gardens, who have had two defeats, narrowly clinched a win against Progress last week.

East London Police, who have been labelled the underdogs in this year’s competition, it upset Spring Rose fans with a late winning try last week.

They look to maintain their game plan of using their hefty forwards to make ground in rolling maul encounters.

The team did not incur major injuries in last week’s clash and will not be making many changes to their squad.

East London Police committee manager Andiswa Mntunjani said: “We just have two changes to the squad due to player availability.

“Our preparations for this game have been going well and we just want to focus on coming back home with the trophy.”

Gardens manager Simonica Marbella said: “Retaining the title would mean a lot to the team as it would coincide with our 75th anniversary.

“The team is ready and amped for the clash.”
