No trees to replace ones cut down

- J S, Port Elizabeth

EVERY day all you hear in the Walmer area is the sound of chain saws and the falling of huge old trees.

I presume that the contractor has been organised by NMBM and hopefully there is a reason for the removal of these huge giants on the verges. But no new trees are being planted.

Surely for each tree that is removed, at least one new one should be planted.

Or else one day in the future Walmer, instead of being a beautiful suburb filled with trees and birds, will be no longer so.
