Police nab drivers after shots fired

TWO men believed to be involved in robberies have been arrested after shots were fired at police in a chase.

The shootings occurred during a crime prevention operation in the KwaDwesi area on Sunday night.

The police spotted a minibus without number plates and while pursuing it, men in a another minibus allegedly started shooting at them, they said.

Additional police responded, but the passengers in both vehicles ran away.

The drivers were held. It was found that the vehicles had allegedly been used to rob a truck driver. – Gareth Wilson
