No ID for man killed

PO­LICE are ap­peal­ing for help in iden­ti­fy­ing a man who was killed af­ter be­ing hit by a car in Jef­freys Bay on Wed­nes­day night.

Po­lice spokes­woman Cap­tain Gerda Swart said the man was struck by a Polo while cross­ing Nau­tilus Street in C-Place, Jef­freys Bay.

“The driver of the ve­hi­cle did stop at the scene and alerted po­lice as well as emer­gency ser­vices. The man, how­ever, died on the scene,” she said.

“There was no iden­ti­fi­ca­tion on the de­ceased and at this stage his iden­tity is un­known.”

Swart ap­pealed to any­one who might be able to as­sist with the iden­ti­fi­ca­tion or pos­si­bly knew his next of kin to con­tact De­tec­tive War­rant Of­fi­cer Eu­nice Pot­gi­eter on 042-200-6600. – Gareth Wil­son
