Sibanye secure first win in ABC Motsepe League
SIBANYE clinched their first win in the ABC Motsepe League this season when they beat Swartkops Valley United Brothers 4-1 in a Port Elizabeth derby at the NU2 Stadium in Motherwell at the weekend.
The win saw Sibanye, who are languishing at the bottom of the log, bounce back from their goalless draw against Try Again in their previous league fixture.
Meanwhile, the loss saw Subs extend their winless run to three matches in the league. The last time the Motherwell side tasted victory was a 2-1 win against PE Stars.
Lion City kept their winning momentum, beating Butterworth 2-1. That gave them their second victory in the league so far.
City had a slow start to the season but now it seems as if the players have gelled well and are going in for the kill.
After playing to a goalless draw against Spears, PE Stars bounced back to their winning ways when they beat Highbury 2-0 in a another Bay derby.
The win has seen Stars move up to second place on the log with 10 points from five games.
