Walmer Stars to face African Aces in semi

WALMER Stars will start as favourites to lift the Wafa leg of the May­oral Cup af­ter an ex­cel­lent show at the week­end.

On Satur­day, they punched above their weight to beat Ghetto Stars 2-1 and on Sun­day they beat Peace United 3-2.

They will meet African Aces in the semi­fi­nals.

African Aces had a walkover in the first round and beat Walmer Hot­spurs 2-0 in the quar­ter­fi­nals.

Eleven Ex­pe­ri­ence beat Morn­ing Stars 4-3 in a thrilling penalty shootout and thrashed Air­port Val­ley United 5-1 in the quar­ters.

They will play Real Madrid, who had a bye on Satur­day and beat Mabay­i­bone Strik­ers 3-2 on penal­ties.

SOPHAKAMA were the big­gest win­ners in the Zwifa leg of the May­oral Cup on Satur­day when they thrashed Young Killers 8-0.

In the only match to go into penal­ties, Kuyasa United beat Shin­ing Stars 3-1 af­ter the match had ended 1-1.

Premier league cham­pi­ons Ma­jor Chiefs will be in ac­tion this evening when they take on Soweto An­gels.
