SA Post Office has lost the plot

-

LIKE J S, I too find that airmail letters posted to destinations abroad take an inordinate time to be delivered (“Mail takes months to be delivered”, June 13).

I, eschewing e-mails, Twitter, WhatsApp and all the other technological marvels that have removed the human touch from personal correspondence, write my granddaughters, who live in Australia, a letter each month.

I find that the letters are not only being delayed, but are not delivered in date sequence.

For example, a letter posted in March was delivered before a letter posted the previous December.

Of course, some might argue that it is wrong to assume that the fault lies with the local postal service and the Australian Post Office could be the guilty party.

However, I have visited Australia several times and, while I look with disdain on their cricket and rugby teams, when it comes to service delivery, Oz is indeed the Wiz.

It does appear as if Postman Pat has lost the plot.
