SA in R12bn deal with Saudi firm

South Africa signed a R12bn re­new­able en­ergy deal with a Saudi Ara­bia com­pany on Thurs­day as part of a $10bn (R133bn) in­vest­ment agree­ment, en­ergy min­is­ter Jeff Radebe said.

Radebe is part of the del­e­ga­tion ac­com­pa­ny­ing Pres­i­dent Cyril Ramaphosa on a visit to Nige­ria‚ Saudi Ara­bia and the United Arab Emi­rates.

“Al­ready we have signed a big deal of R12bn with Red­stone and [en­ergy com­pany] ACWA‚ in part­ner­ship with the Cen­tral En­ergy Fund, for re­new­ables in terms of so­lar and wind‚” Radebe said. –
