Boy band duo strive to fill the gap
From pursuing their solo careers to doing features with other accomplished artists, Port Elizabeth boy band GYFO are now focussing their attention on developing their brand as a duo.
Brothers Sean Bluntt and EmLloyde are a multi-genre duo who officially started GYFO (Get Your Fleek On) in July 2018.
GYFO also released their single Sunday in 2018, for which they shot a video with SA production company Pilot Films in October.
Pilot Films has shot videos for prominent musicians including KO, Riky Rick and Donald.
The Sunday music video recently debuted on music show Trace Africa BTB and uploaded on YouTube on Monday (see link online).
Sunday is the first song on the Duo’s 8-track EP, which is a combination of their original music, produced since they kicked off their career together.
When not performing at social and corporate events, the duo host their own.
“Our music caters for everyone, whether black, white, old or young,” Sean said.
“We are always sure to make music we can perform at any kind of event for any crowd.”
The brothers also partnered with other young entrepreneurs in 2018, with whom they co-own entertainment company Kango Wave.
GYFO is managed by the company.
“We strive to be different and do things that have never been done in PE before,” Kango Wave co-founder Puleng Mokhalane said.
With that said, GYFO and Kango Wave invite the city’s lovebirds to a Valentine’s Day celebratory picnic with a difference.
Titled Garden Sessions, at the Windemere Hotel, it includes a romantic picnic for couples, live entertainment by Kango Wave artists GYFO and Thandokazi, dinner and luxury accommodation for one night, accompanied by a surprise at the end of the couple’s stay.
