Time to form Hindu party

I agree with the sentiments expressed by Rekha Premshand “What about a Hindu party?” (IOS, August 20).

Rekha has rightly stated that although there are more than 1 million Hindus in South Africa, we do not have any political representations in government, be it at national, provincial or local.

I believe this is one of the reasons Hindus often find themselves marginalised in national debates, functions and in any other activities where other religious groups are well represented.

It is time Hindus awoke from their deep slumber. Forming a political party will be a step in the right direction.
