The Independent on Saturday - - METRO - | DUNCAN GUY

A CENTURY LATER: Glenwood High School’s principal Andri Barnes, pictured above left, got the ball rolling among KwaZulu-Natal’s old five boys’ schools whose past pupils and staff fought – and many died – in various wars, when she placed a wreath at the school cenotaph on Wednesday.

On Friday, military VIP guests offered salutes at Durban High School, pictured below, and Maritzburg College, above right, lowered its flag at their respective ceremonies.

Michaelhouse will hold its ceremony at 11am tomorrow, “on the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month” when World War I ended in 1918, while Hilton College will mark Remembrance Day with an evening chapel service.
