CANNON’S Auctioneer­s achieved some noteworthy prices at its collectabl­es, antiques and art sale in Hilton.

One of the top final bids was for an 18ct yellow gold vintage Omega Constellat­ion gents’ wristwatch which sold for R44000, exceeding Cannon’s top pre-sale estimate of R40000. Other auction successes included:

Two 18ct gold and enamel Masonic Jewels (lapel badges) – R19000 and R19500, respective­ly.

Carriage chandelier (obtained from a Zimbali estate revamp) – R18000.

Gabriel de Jongh Old Master landscape painting – R22000.
