Nazi show-and-tell his­tory les­son slated

CAN­BERRA: A high-school em­ployee is be­ing in­ves­ti­gated af­ter bring­ing Nazi mem­o­ra­bilia and firearms to a his­tory les­son in south­ern Aus­tralia.

A replica Zyk­lon B cyanide gas can­is­ter – sim­i­lar to those used to kill Jews – was brought to the World War II his­tory class at Dro­mana Col­lege on Vic­to­ria’s Morn­ing­ton Penin­sula, The Age news­pa­per said yes­ter­day.

The em­ployee, who is not a teacher, also baked a cake with a swastika on it and let a stu­dent wear a cap with the Nazi ea­gle on it.

Vic­to­ria’s ed­u­ca­tion depart­ment con­demned the act.
