Tortured Soul

WITH 100% live modern, deep, soulful house music that prides itself on being freed from the DJ booth, Tortured Soul is one of the worlds most groove-centred acts. With a sound reminiscent of neo-soul groups like Jamiroquai or Brand New Heavies, it is also deeply saturated in the contemporary freshness of house purveyors like Joe Negro, Kenny Dope, Soul Clap and Disclosure. Loved and revered by South African audiences through word-of-mouth and strong radio play, this is one show that Afropolitans will not want to miss. Evita - The Musical

PIETER Toerien and David Ian present the original West End and Broadway production of Tim Rice and Andrew Lloyd Webber’s iconic musical Evita. Webber and Rice’s seven-time Tony Award-winning musical Evita charts the ragsto-riches rise of the First Lady of Argentina, who won the love of her countrymen after marrying military leader-turned-president Juan Peron. Set in Buenos Aires between 19341952, the musical follows Eva Duarte Peron on her passionate and tragic journey from her humble beginnings as a fatherless child to ambitious actress to the most powerful woman in Latin America and, eventually, to a saint-like figure after her death from cancer at age 33. Evita stars Jonathan Roxmouth (Grease, Beauty and the Beast, Phantom of the Opera, Sunset Boulevard, Sweeney Todd) as Che and Emma Kingston (In the Heights, Les Misérables), who has been personally chosen by Andrew Lloyd Webber, Tim Rice and Hal Prince to play Eva Perón. Robert Finlayson makes a welcome return to the stage as Juan Peron. Tickets from R150, 8pm, Montecasino
