PPC ce­ment com­pany gets new CEO

CE­MENT com­pany PPC has ap­pointed Jo­han Claassen as CEO and ex­ec­u­tive di­rec­tor with im­me­di­ate ef­fect.

“Since his ap­point­ment as in­terim CEO Jo­han has over­seen a num­ber of im­por­tant mile­stones in­clud­ing the suc­cess­ful stabilisation of the busi­ness, an im­prove­ment in ef­fi­cien­cies fol­low­ing the com­ple­tion of key projects and the strength­en­ing of PPC’s fi­nan­cial po­si­tion,” chair­per­son Peter Nel­son said.

Njombo Lekula, pre­vi­ously man­ag­ing di­rec­tor of Rest of Africa Ce­ment, has been ap­pointed MD of SA Ce­ment.

He has been at PPC for 27 years, hold­ing a num­ber of ce­ment man­u­fac­tur­ing and ex­ec­u­tive man­age­ment roles.

Njombo is a chem­i­cal en­gi­neer by pro­fes­sion and holds a mas­ters in busi­ness ad­min­is­tra­tion from the Univer­sity of Stel­len­bosch Busi­ness School, PPC said.

Njombo is re­placed by Mokate Ra­mafoko whose ap­point­ment as MD of Rest of Africa Ce­ment has been con­firmed. – TNA Re­porter
