ANC conference postponed
THE ANC in the Free State yesterday said its provincial conference scheduled for the weekend had been postponed.
Provincial spokesperson Thabo Meeko said the much anticipated elective conference had been placed on ice until further notice.
Meeko said there was an urgent need to unify the party in the province before the province could proceed.
The decision follows two marches that took place last week and this week by members who were at loggerheads over the provincial task team appointed to steer the party forward.
“We want to give the ANC branches time to unite the party,” he said.
Meeko said they would make an announcement about a new date of the provincial conference in due course.
