Nige­ria naira firms on black mar­ket

LAGOS: Nige­ria’s naira firmed on the coun­try’s black mar­ket yes­ter­day as traders pre­pared for the cen­tral bank to in­crease the dol­lar sup­ply for ex­change bu­reaux to keep the re­tail rate higher. The black mar­ket rate strength­ened 1.27% to 395/$. The cen­tral bank plans to sell $20000 (R263000) to bu­reaux de change op­er­a­tors yes­ter­day, the op­er­a­tors’ as­so­ci­a­tion pres­i­dent said. – Reuters
