Former model who lost her breast wins

A FORMER model who had a mastectomy after doctors over-estimated the size of a lump by nearly six times was awarded £100 000 (R1.6m) compensation. Diane Chambers, 48, said she was left permanently disfigured and unable to work after the “needless” procedure, reported dailymail.co.uk. She went into debt over bills for further medical treatment and therapy, and even contemplated suicide after having her breast removed when she should have been offered a less invasive lumpectomy. Chambers was about to have a breast lift operation in 2012 when doctors found a potentially cancerous 14mm lump.
