Impressive Team SA does us proud

The New Age (Gauteng) - - COMMENT -

DESPITE not meeting their target of achieving fifth position on the Commonwealth Games medals table, Team SA can still hold their heads high following their achievements at the latest edition of the Games.

A haul of 13 gold, 11 silver and 13 bronze medals is truly impressive.

The electrifying performances by star athletes such as Caster Semenya, Akani Simbine, Chad le Clos, Tatjana Schoenmaker and Luvo Manyonga will serve as an inspiration to other aspiring champions.

Team SA must be saluted for flying the flag high and are yet another indication that the country can reach even greater heights if Sascoc gets its act fully together.

As the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games approach, Team SA has an opportunity to reflect on lessons from the Commonwealth Games and finetune its strategy to bring more glory for the country.

Congratulations are in order for Team SA following their Gold Coast achievements.
