PRE­SENTED by renowned lo­cal di­rec­tor, Dar­ryl Spi­jk­ers, Cal­en­dar Girls is a play about friend­ship, love and loss. An en­dear­ing comedy cel­e­brat­ing women – real, quirky, funny, heart­felt, whole­some women, the svelte and the lumpy, the stars and the wall­flow­ers. Join the women of the Women’s In­sti­tute in north­ern Eng­land on their jour­ney from tai chi to chips via a whirl­wind of tears trep­i­da­tion, tri­umph and laugh­ter. Based on the true story of mem­bers of a WI who cre­ated an al­ter­na­tive cal­en­dar to raise funds for char­ity, fol­low­ing the death of one of their hus­bands. The women took tra­di­tional WI ac­tiv­i­ties and in­jected a lit­tle twist by be­ing pho­tographed do­ing these in the nude. Tick­ets R100, 7.30pm, The Play­house The­atre, Somerset West.
