SANTA Erder Pel­ham was just 17 years old when she, her fa­ther, mother and two broth­ers fled their home town of Hürth in Ger­many. Af­ter a har­row­ing jour­ney and tragic loss, Santa fi­nally found her way to a new life on an un­known con­ti­nent – Africa. This is her story, as rel­e­vant to­day as it has al­ways been. In­ter­spersed with mu­sic and songs in Yid­dish, French, Span­ish, English and He­brew, Aviva Pel­ham de­liv­ers a com­pelling and cap­ti­vat­ing nar­ra­tive. She is ac­com­pa­nied by mu­si­cal di­rec­tor Matthew Reid on clar­inet, sax­o­phone and key­board, Petri Salo­nen on vi­o­lin and Nicky Jansen on key­board, gui­tar, ac­cor­dion and flute.
