AN AVIAGEN AND ROSS POULTRY BREEDERS COMMITMENT TO FUTURE SUPPLY IN SOUTH AFRICA
Aviagen became the first poultry breeding company to achieve compartment status for its UK facilities in 2011. Compartmentalisation offers the ability to export chicks and eggs from approved facilities in the event of an outbreak of Avian Influenza (AI) or Newcastle Disease (ND) in the exporting country. It is a government-audited endorsement of the bio-security and health status of the breeding stock distributed from an approved compartment. Security of supply is an increasing issue for the global poultry industry and South Africa. By working together Aviagen and Ross Poultry Breeders have secured continuity of supply to South Africa.
