Turkey dec­i­mated in Ger­many

More than 45 000 tur­keys have been culled in Ger­many fol­low­ing the H5N8 out­breaks – and many thou­sands more are likely to share the same fate. The mass slaughter in Bran­den­burg was car­ried out af­ter the virus was de­tected on a lo­cal farm, with state au­thor­i­ties say­ing that a fur­ther 3 000 were set to be killed in Sch­leswig-hol­stein.
