New PDMA director for SAPA
Dr Ziyanda Majokweni is the newly appointed Director of the Poultry Disease Management Agency. She joins SAPA from her previous role as the General Manager: Corporate Affairs for the South African Weather Service where her roles included stakeholder relations as well as strategy development and management.
Dr Majokweni holds a degree in Veterinary Science, and has completed the Management Advancement Programme through the University of Witwatersrand.
She began her career as a state veterinarian in the Eastern Cape, after which she spent several years in private practice. She has also worked in the pharmaceutical industry in various risk management and farmer support roles.
Dr Majokweni has worked for the Agricultural Research Council of South Africa as a Researcher and Laboratory Manager for the BSE programme, as well for the CSIR as a Quality Assurance
