Mass vaccination for Chinese poultry Egg stamping vote Russia eyes China for exports

The Poultry Bulletin - - CONTENTS -

China is set to shortly conduct a mass poultry vaccination programme in two southern provinces in a bid to stamp out the virulent H7N9 strain of avian influenza.

The initiative forms part of the agriculture ministry’s attempts to deal with the virus, which is responsible for almost 270 deaths since October 2016.

There have been some concerns that while a mass vaccination programme will reduce the clinical disease, it will not prevent the virus from circulating and can mask its prevalence.¡
