Shots fired at Red Guard of­fi­cers

RED Guard re­sponse of­fi­cers in Cofimv­aba came un­der fire while re­spond­ing to a panic but­ton ac­ti­vated at a trad­ing store on Fri­day.

Op­er­a­tions man­ager Wil­lie Rey­necke said the re­sponse of­fi­cers re­turned fire and the sus­pects fled into bushes. No-one was ap­pre­hended and the store owner was not hurt.

On the same day, of­fi­cers ap­pre­hended a sus­pect fol­low­ing the al­leged at­tempted rape of a four-yearold girl on a farm near Queen­stown.

The sus­pect was handed over to the po­lice who in­di­cated that he was al­legedly wanted as a sus­pect in sev­eral cases.

Two peo­ple, in­clud­ing an in­jured man, were handed over to the po­lice on Satur­day fol­low­ing a fight out­side a lo­cal liquor store. One of the men had sus­tained wounds to his head and body.
