Question: How would you describe yourself?
Answer: I see myself as self-driven, motivated and humble.
Q: What do you like most about your job?
A: On the most basic level, I enjoy working with technology. My job provides me with an opportunity to learn and work with diverse, evolving technology. It is up to me to choose what will best suit our municipality.
Q: If you had a chance for a do something over in life, what would you do differently?
A: Nothing. Everything that has happened (good and bad) has made me who I am and brought me to this point. I am pretty happy with where I am. Q: What makes you sad? A: Drug abuse by thecountry’s youth.
Q: How do you spend your spare time?
A: I do quite a lot of things but what works best for me is spending time with friends. I sometimes go to a club, get involved in social activities (sport), or learn a new hobby. Spending time with people who share a vision similar to mine is a bonus – we get to engage on issues from studying, careers, entrepreneurial opportunities, wealth, tenders and lotto.
Q: What is your favourite quote?
A: “The fastest way to attain courage is to follow the chosen Way and be willing to abandon life itself for the sake of justice.” ~Mas Oyama~
Q: What are the most important things to you in life?
A: Being alive, then family, health and children.
Q: What would make South Africa a better place?
A: The focus should be on these issues: Education - you cannot build a great nation if its citizens lack basic skills. South Africa is a rich country so most of its budget should go towards education. Health: Our health care system is a disaster that needs urgent attention. Good governance: Corruption is a problem in SA. Employment: This is perhaps the biggest challenge.
Q: What is your favourite holiday destination?
A: Dubai, United Arab Emirates
Q: Matrics started writing their final exam this week. What words of encouragement would you like to give them?
A: Give it your all and remember, education is the one thing that can never be taken away from you.
