Ques­tion: How would you de­scribe your­self?

An­swer: I see my­self as self-driven, mo­ti­vated and hum­ble.

Q: What do you like most about your job?

A: On the most ba­sic level, I en­joy work­ing with tech­nol­ogy. My job pro­vides me with an op­por­tu­nity to learn and work with di­verse, evolv­ing tech­nol­ogy. It is up to me to choose what will best suit our mu­nic­i­pal­ity.

Q: If you had a chance for a do some­thing over in life, what would you do dif­fer­ently?

A: Noth­ing. Every­thing that has hap­pened (good and bad) has made me who I am and brought me to this point. I am pretty happy with where I am. Q: What makes you sad? A: Drug abuse by the­coun­try’s youth.

Q: How do you spend your spare time?

A: I do quite a lot of things but what works best for me is spend­ing time with friends. I some­times go to a club, get in­volved in so­cial ac­tiv­i­ties (sport), or learn a new hobby. Spend­ing time with peo­ple who share a vi­sion sim­i­lar to mine is a bonus – we get to en­gage on is­sues from study­ing, ca­reers, en­tre­pre­neur­ial op­por­tu­ni­ties, wealth, ten­ders and lotto.

Q: What is your favourite quote?

A: “The fastest way to at­tain courage is to fol­low the cho­sen Way and be will­ing to aban­don life it­self for the sake of jus­tice.” ~Mas Oyama~

Q: What are the most im­por­tant things to you in life?

A: Be­ing alive, then fam­ily, health and chil­dren.

Q: What would make South Africa a bet­ter place?

A: The fo­cus should be on th­ese is­sues: Ed­u­ca­tion - you can­not build a great na­tion if its cit­i­zens lack ba­sic skills. South Africa is a rich coun­try so most of its bud­get should go to­wards ed­u­ca­tion. Health: Our health care sys­tem is a dis­as­ter that needs ur­gent at­ten­tion. Good gov­er­nance: Cor­rup­tion is a prob­lem in SA. Em­ploy­ment: This is per­haps the big­gest chal­lenge.

Q: What is your favourite hol­i­day des­ti­na­tion?

A: Dubai, United Arab Emi­rates

Q: Matrics started writ­ing their fi­nal exam this week. What words of en­cour­age­ment would you like to give them?

A: Give it your all and re­mem­ber, ed­u­ca­tion is the one thing that can never be taken away from you.
