Man falls through power-sta­tion roof

RED Guard re­sponse of­fi­cers, at­tend­ing to a call from the Ko­mani power sta­tion, found a dead man who had fallen through the roof of the build­ing while al­legedly try­ing to steal ca­bles, op­er­a­tions man­ager Willie Rey­necke said. The po­lice were called in. Re­sponse of­fi­cers at­tended to a panic alarm at a Cofimv­aba retail store after dam­age to the roof and ceil­ing was noted. It seemed the ceil­ing boards had been cut open but noth­ing had been taken.

A res­i­dent of Wode­house Street re­ported the van­dal­is­ing of prop­erty in the area by a worker and the suspect was handed over to the po­lice on Thurs­day.

Re­sponse of­fi­cers as­sisted the own­ers of a fi­nan­cial es­tab­lish­ment after a man, armed with a knife, al­legedly threat­ened the staff mem­bers. He was ap­pre­hended and taken to the charge of­fice.

A Cofimv­aba re­sponse of­fi­cer called in about smoke bil­low­ing from a store in the town on Fri­day. The fire was ex­tin­guished. – Rep re­porter
