RESPONSE officers in Lady Frere responded to an alarm at a shop late on Saturday night and found there had been an attempted break-in, operations manager Willie Reynecke said.

However, no entry was gained as a result of the quick response.

Soon after, the security officer on duty at a hardware store in Engcobo noticed a hole in the fence and a suspect stealing a gas bottle.

He could not apprehend the suspect but did recover the gas bottle.

On Sunday evening, response officers in Engcobo attended to a panic at a food outlet.

They apprehended a suspect who had robbed the owner of cash. The money was recovered and the suspect handed over to police. – Rep reporter
