Owner col­lapses after busi­ness break-in

RED Guard response of­fi­cers called to at­tend a break-in at a busi­ness premises last Monday found that the board­room had been bro­ken into and a tele­vi­sion set and ket­tle had been taken.

The owner had col­lapsed, so they sum­moned the po­lice and an am­bu­lance, op­er­a­tions man­ager Willie Rey­necke told The Rep.

Response of­fi­cers re­act­ing to a call in Zeiler Street caught two sus­pects break­ing in. The sus­pects were dropped at the charge of­fice.

Clients called from a su­per­mar­ket to re­port that they had seen a sus­pect who had pre­vi­ously robbed them, but could not get hold of the po­lice. Response of­fi­cers ap­pre­hended the sus­pect and handed him over to the po­lice.

Sum­moned by a panic alert, response of­fi­cers found a woman had been at­tacked in the street by two men with sticks and knives. The vic­tim was not se­ri­ously in­jured and the po­lice were called.

Help was re­quested from a farm and stock theft re­ported. Three sus­pects were ap­pre­hended by response of­fi­cers, but they were not sure how many head of cat­tle had been taken. The sus­pects were handed over to the po­lice.
