MAS­SIVE DAGGA HAUL IN KO­MANI

MEM­BERS of the Ko­mani pub­lic or­der polic­ing unit seized dagga to the value of R1-mil­lion in Cath­cart Road in the early hours of Tues­day morn­ing.

Po­lice spokesman Cap­tain Namhla Mdle­leni said po­lice stopped a Toy­ota with a CA regis­tra­tion num­ber while pa­trolling along the N6 through town. Twenty-six bags of dagga were seized and a 35-year-old man taken into cus­tody.

The sus­pect was be­lieved to be trav­el­ling from Nta­bankulu to Cape Town.

A case of pos­ses­sion of dagga was opened. The sus­pect ap­peared in the mag­is­trate’s court in Ko­mani on Tues­day.
