Of­fi­cers come to school­boy’s res­cue

RED Guard re­sponse of­fi­cers man­aged to as­sist a school­boy who was be­ing robbed on the bridge in Liv­ing­stone Road in Ko­mani last week.

Op­er­a­tions man­ager Wil­lie Rey­necke said Red Guard re­ceived the call at about 3pm. One of two sus­pects had been ap­pre­hended by a mem­ber of the pub­lic. The stolen items were re­turned to the boy and the sus­pect handed over to the po­lice.

A stolen ve­hi­cle was re­cov­ered in West­bourne and a sus­pect handed over to the po­lice fol­low­ing swift ac­tion by Red Guard last week.

Re­sponse of­fi­cers in Lady Frere, re­act­ing to an alarm at a Lady Frere tav­ern, ap­pre­hended a sus­pect who was handed over to the po­lice.

Last Wed­nes­day, a man who was al­legedly rob­bing cus­tomers at an ATM in Cath­cart Road, was ap­pre­hended by se­cu­rity of­fi­cers and handed over to the po­lice. The stolen bank cards of bank pa­trons were re­cov­ered.

A man who had al­legedly stolen a tele­vi­sion from a lo­cal store, was ap­pre­hended and the goods re­turned to the store on Fri­day.
