Of­fi­cers ap­pre­hend man after brick is thrown at ve­hi­cle

ON MON­DAY last week, Red Guard response of­fi­cers on pa­trol ap­pre­hended a per­son throw­ing a brick at a su­per­mar­ket ve­hi­cle in Cath­cart Road, op­er­a­tions man­ager Wil­lie Rey­necke told The Rep.

The store man­ager de­clined to open a case be­cause it ap­peared that the per­son was men­tally ill and he was re­leased.

On Tues­day morn­ing, response of­fi­cers ap­pre­hended a per­son in the veld near a tav­ern who was car­ry­ing a mi­crowave oven and a din­ner set. As he could not ex­plain where he had ob­tained the prop­erty from, he was taken to the po­lice and ar­rested for pos­ses­sion of sus­pected stolen prop­erty.

Se­cu­rity of­fi­cers on duty at a su­per­mar­ket on Wed­nes­day af­ter­noon, ap­pre­hended a suspect for theft. The stolen goods were re­turned and the suspect was handed over to the po­lice.

On Thurs­day morn­ing, response of­fi­cers at­tended to a panic at a store where they ap­pre­hended a suspect who was al­legedly threat­en­ing the store owner with a knife. The suspect was handed over to po­lice.

In an in­ci­dent on Sun­day response of­fi­cers ap­pre­hended a suspect at a tav­ern who had al­legedly tried to buy liquor with a fake note. He, too, was handed over to the po­lice. – Rep re­porter
