A res­i­dent of Swart­berg Road was puz­zled when he saw an Enoch Mgi­jima Lo­cal Mu­nic­i­pal­ity (EMLM) fire en­gine drive past sev­eral times last Wed­nes­day evening be­tween 8pm and 10pm with water spilling out of the back. He fol­lowed the ve­hi­cle to a nearby home where it had been parked in the drive­way as per the photo. The res­i­dent, who wanted to re­main anony­mous, said he asked if there was a fire and was told that the water was be­ing used in the swim­ming pool and why he was con­cerned as it was ‘mu­nic­i­pal water’. The Rep asked the EMLM com­mu­ni­ca­tions sec­tion why the fire en­gine was be­ing used for such a pur­pose and about water re­stric­tions cur­rently in place. It was also asked if ac­tion would be taken. The sec­tion re­sponded that the pub­lic safety direc­torate was in­ves­ti­gat­ing
