Swift ac­tion halts theft of diesel drums

RE­SPONSE of­fi­cers re­act­ing to an alarm, ap­pre­hended a man who had allegedly bro­ken into a lo­cal busi­ness last week, oper­a­tions man­ager Wil­lie Rey­necke said.

Rey­necke said the sus­pect was re­leased as noth­ing had been stolen and the owner de­clined to open a case.

The swift re­ac­tion of re­sponse of­fi­cers work­ing in con­junc­tion with se­cu­rity of­fi­cers at a lo­cal busi­ness, pre­vented the theft of drums of diesel and oil last week. No-one was ap­pre­hended.

A sus­pect was handed over to the po­lice and stolen goods re­cov­ered af­ter a man tried to flee af­ter allegedly steal­ing goods from a lo­cal store last Wed­nes­day.

Rey­necke said a sus­pect was handed over to the po­lice af­ter allegedly threat­en­ing to stab a lo­cal store owner last Thurs­day.

On Satur­day, a man who was allegedly un­der the in­flu­ence of liquor and caus­ing prob­lems at a lo­cal club, was handed over to the po­lice. – Rep re­porter
