THE WOB IS THE NEW BOB

The Star Early Edition - - FRONT PAGE -

AFTER spending months as one of the world’s most popular haircuts, the lob – or “long bob” – has all but been forgotten by its many fans, who have instead turned their affections towards a new hairstyle sensation: the wob.

It is favoured by celebrities such as Jennifer Lawrence, who has been blonde, brunette, straight and curly over the past few years and is now showing off a “wob”, or wavy bob. Not too short and not too long, the style frames her face with flattering waves. And she is not alone.

The gently tousled shorter style has been adopted by a string of American stars in recent weeks, including Beyoncé and Taylor Swift.

According to stylists, the cut has a fuller look than the “lob” or long bob, which was popular last year, and is much easier to care for than longer hair.

“There is a lot of sexy short hair on the red carpet now and I adore it because it’s such a modern take on femininity,” said hairdresser Julien Farel. “It’s also fun to see more women trying shorter hairstyles now that the wavy bob has surfaced on so many different types of faces.” – Daily Mail
