Don’t be idle, take a stand

16 DAYS of Activism for No Violence against Women and Children is a global campaign that runs from November 25 to December 10.

The period symbolically links violence against women with human rights and emphasises that such violence is a violation of human rights.

As part of the 16 Days, LeadSA has organised a campaign – to have your say with a commitment or relevant quote and to post it. Here are some examples: The next time someone makes a sexist remark, I’m not going to stay quiet.

Domestic violence: To remain silent is to participate.

When I see a man disrespecting a woman, I’ll stand up for her.

I won’t laugh at sexist jokes.

I will treat the women in my life with love and respect.

I will intervene if I see someone hurting a child.

Submit your contribution to info@leadsa.co.za

Alternatively, post it on social media with the words “Say Something” and the hashtag #LeadSA.
