Teen drowns, another survives

A TEENAGE boy has died and another has survived a neardrowning incident at a resort on Edward Road in Krugersdorp, paramedics said yesterday. “Reports from the scene indicate that the two were part of a group of learners that were at the resort on a school trip outing,” said Netcare 911 spokesperson Athlenda Mathe. She said paramedics were dispatched to scene at about 3.20pm yesterday, and upon arrival, found first aiders and paramedics from another emergency services already initiating CPR on the boy whose condition looked serious. “... sadly there was nothing more paramedics could do for the boy and he was declared dead at the scene... The other boy who was also in the pool, was assessed and paramedics found that he did not require hospitalisation. Police are investigating this incident. – Staff Reporter
