State clerk in dock for theft
A FINANCIAL clerk at the Oudtshoorn transport department appeared in the Oudtshoorn Regional Court for allegedly manipulating the department’s system to divert funds to her personal account, the Directorate for Priority Crime Investigation (Hawks) said yesterday. Spokesperson Captain Lloyd Ramovha said Grace Malgas appeared in court on Tuesday in connection with fraud and theft amounting to about R600 000. Ramovha said it was alleged that between 2013 and this year, Malgas diverted funds to her personal account, apparently using her supervisor’s user ID to authorise the illegal payments. The case was postponed to November 17. – ANA
