48 New Year’s spe­cial ar­rivals

A TO­TAL of 48 ba­bies were born in North West on New Year’s Day, the pro­vin­cial Health Depart­ment said yes­ter­day. Spokesper­son Te­bogo Lekgeth­wane said 30 girls and 18 boys were born in the province. “This fig­ure rep­re­sents re­ports from fa­cil­i­ties that have re­sponded,” he said. Six­teen ba­bies – 10 girls and six boys – were born in the Bo­janala dis­trict and eight ba­bies – five girls and three boys – were born in the Dr Ruth Se­go­motsi Mom­pati dis­trict. In the Ngaka Modiri Molema dis­trict, 11 ba­bies – seven girls and four boys – were born, and in the Dr Ken­neth Kaunda dis­trict, 13 ba­bies were born – eight girls and five boys. – ANA
