THE TSHWANE Metro police department yesterday pleaded with the public to come forward if they had information regarding the murder of one of its officers. Spokesperson Senior Superintendent Isaac Mahamba said Constable Eddy Solly Bokaba, 27, was shot outside his friend’s home after finishing work on Monday night. “The officer knocked off duty on Monday at 11pm. He picked up a friend and was travelling to the friend’s place. When he arrived there, he noticed a VW Polo approaching them. He climbed out of his vehicle to ask what they wanted. A person got out of the Polo and, without saying a word, pulled out a firearm and shot him. It is not known how many people were in the VW.” Bokaba died on the scene. The motive for the murder was not known and police were investigating, Mahamba added. He said the department was in shock about Bokaba’s death. Mahamba described him as hard working and dedicated.
