Honda doesn’t care – owner

The Star Early Edition - - NEWS -

I PURCHASED a second-hand Honda Accord 2.4 Auto executive from Honda West Rand.Ten months later – 3 500km after the warranty has expired – the power steering has broken. Honda refuses to help, even suggesting I drive it back to Johannesburg from Cape Town with my children in the car to get it serviced. I do have an extended warranty, but I find the attitude of total indifference from Honda unacceptable. They say it’s out of warranty and not their problem.

Where can I go to raise this issue? Georgie: Again, the RMI is probably your best bet in this instance. You’ve had the car for only 10 months, but it has exceeded the CPA’s six-month guaranteed warranty of quality, although there is an extended warranty in place. Read your policy documents. Not an advisable way to treat a client.
