STOCKS of both white and yellow maize would climb to 1.12 million tons, or enough for 41 days, by end of season on April 30, Grain and Oilseeds Supply and Demand Estimates Committee said in a report published on National Agricultural Marketing Council’s website yesterday.
That compares with a forecast of 1.1 million tons in November.
White maize closing stock level is projected to be 506 586 tons, or sufficient for 43 days, and yellow maize is seen at 609 345 tons, or 30 days’ supply.
Forecast for imports of yellow maize needed in the season has been trimmed to 1.8 million tons. – Bloomberg
